On Sunday, January 30th 2022, Strathcona Community Policing Centre was invited to join our friends at Lotus Light Charity Society for a wonderful community outreach program. The focus of this initiative was to celebrate the New Lunar Year with the residents of the Downtown East Side.

Lotus Light Charity Society and their new partner Project Hastings got together with the Strathcona Community Policing Centre for a winter safety themed community outreach event.

Our volunteers at SCPC joined Lotus Light and Project Hastings to distribute food, hot coffee, and outreach packages to residents of the downtown East Side living at the new shelter at 9 East Hastings Street known as The Osborne. Community members who are interested in helping us with Community safety are encouraged to join us and become volunteers with the Strathcona CPC by visiting https://www.strathconacpc.ca/Volunteer.
