Every summer up until 2020, the Union Gospel Mission hosts the Summer Connect. A fair that hosts all of the diverse non-profit service providers in Strathcona. Residents from Strathcona, and all over Vancouver, could visit and learn about all of the different services available to them. 

Flash back to summer 2020, when the summer connect was forced to cancel due to COVID. Same again in 2021. 

"The community was so sad that this was cancelled in 2020 and 2021. It is always so much fun to get together with all of your neighbours, have something to eat and talk to all of the groups that are here to help." Sonny, Downtown east side resident. 

Flash forward to June 8, 2022, and the Summer Connect was back on, and hundreds of people attended this community event. Your Strathcona CPC was honoured to attend and interact with local residents about what Community Policing is, and how they can be involved in neighbourhood safety.
