The Strathcona Community Safety Association is seeking a new Treasurer and Board Secretary

The Strathcona Community Safety Association (SCSA) is the legal entity that operate your Strathcona Community Policing Centre (SCPC).

We are seeking a value aligned accounting or financial guru with a background or specialty in non-profits and charities in BC to join our Board of Directors in the role of SCSA Board Treasurer.

The Treasurer oversees the financial matters of the SCSA and ensures alignment with best practices in accordance with the Society’s governing documents and legal requirements. The Treasurer ensures that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place, and are appropriate for the charity.

We are also seeking a new Board Secretary. The Secretary is critical for the smooth operations of the Board. You ensure that Board Directors (and members) are given appropriate notice of meetings, proactively record records of these meetings, and distribute meeting minutes in a timely manner.

Both roles are full Board of Director positions, meaning you can help shape the present and future of this growing organization focused on bringing community led safety solutions to Strathcona and the downtown east side.

Board meetings are once every two months, and this role would require approximately 4-6 hours a month commitment from you.

If these opportunities sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact our Executive Director Dan Turvill at danturvill@strathconacpc.ca or stop by and visit us in person at 872 East Hastings Street.
